Railway Screensaver FAQ (32bit / V7)

How do I install and set-up the screensaver?
  • Download the latest version of the program.
  • You should have an executable setup program, such as R32P43.exe.
  • Run the setup program to install the screensaver.
  • Use windows control panel to select the screensaver as your active screensaver.

What files does the screensaver use and where should they be installed?

The screensaver files are as follows:

Railway 32.scr The screensaver itself.
Railway 32.exe The application version of the screensaver.
Railway Code Library.dll Code library.
Railway Resource Library.dll Graphics and other resources library.
Railway Scenes Narrow.txt Definitions for narrow gauge scenes.
Railway Scenes Standard.txt Definitions for standard gauge scenes.

The screensaver and associated libraries can be installed more or less anywhere, with the following conditions.

Railway 32.scr
Default: c:\windows\system or c:\winnt\system32
Can be anywhere, but should be in the above location if is to be listed in control panel dialog.
If in another location it can be installed as the active screensaver by right clicking on the .scr file and selecting "install".

Railway 32.exe
Railway Code Library.dll, Railway Graphics Library.dll,
Railway Narrow.txt, Railway Standard.txt
Default: c:\program files\Railway32
Can be anywhere. Do not need to be in the same place (although this is recommended).

The program will locate the other files automatically (provide they are on drive C). If you need to put these files on another drive, the registry can be edited to set the relevant file paths.

Railway Narrow.txt and Railway Standard.txt should be in the same place.
